Repair and maintenance services of helicopters. Joint Helicopter Command (JHC) has a requirement for the supply of maintenance personnel to maintain the Apache Helicopter. The Authority requires experienced Technicians capable of working on the Apache Helicopter at its main operating base, Wattisham Station, Ipswich, Suffolk with possible detached duty at other UK MOD locations (as required).The potential contractor will be expected to provide the resources to deliver the required 51,000 (estimated) man-hours per annum, however there is the potential for the man-hours per annum to increase or decrease dependant on demand.The Technicians will be required to conduct aircraft maintenance tasks, including bespoke packages of technical work, aircraft cleaning and manpower substitution tasks. Personnel provided to the Authority must be of either; Supervisor or Fitter grades and be trained in either the Apache Aircraft (Mechanical) or Apache Avionics trade and be able to demonstrate that they are Suitably Qualified Experienced Personnel (SQEP). The required ratio of supervisors to fitters is 1:1 for Aircraft and 1:1.5 for Avionic technicians. In addition the potential contractor must provide x2 Senior Supervisors to co-ordinate and undertake maintenance tasks as directed by the Authority. Supervisors must have a practical working knowledge of the Government On-Line Data enterprise services platform (GOLDesp) system.The potential contractor will be required to provide all of their personnel with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including (but not limited to) overalls, safety boots, waterproofs etc.Personnel will be working to military line managers and may be required to undertake shift work patterns at relatively short notice. All tasks are required to be carried out in accordance with Military Air Regulations, aircraft documentation, risk assessments and health & safety regulations, with flight safety paramount at all times.The potential contractor will be responsible for reporting output to the MOD.The proposed contract may be extended at the sole discretion of the Authority for a period of up to a maximum of 24 months. The Authority reserves the right to determine how many months may be taken up.
