Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council (BGCBC) wish to appoint a Market Management company to operate, the boroughs 3 Town Centre Markets, namely, Ebbw Vale, Abertillery and Brynmawr. The traditional weekly markets are seen as an important feature and attraction on our local high streets, which we wish to maintain and strengthen. The weekly markets contribute to the vitality and viability of the Town Centres, and Blaenau Gwent Council wish to appoint a company who is committed to achieving the provision and maintenance of top quality markets which meet the modern day consumers’ aspirations and which are able to compete effectively in an expanding retail sector. For information the current markets generate a combined income of approximately £2000 per week based on the Authority’s current charges.
