Pedestrians, motorcyclists and pedal cyclists are considered to be vulnerable road users as they are at higher risk of involvement in an accident or are more vulnerable in terms of becoming a casualty, or killed or seriously injured, if involved in an accident.Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council has secured funding from the Welsh Government to allow National Standards Levels 1 & 2 Cycle Training to be delivered to Year 6 pupils (10/11 year olds), at all 22 Primary Schools within the County Borough, to encourage more children to cycle safely. The maximum cost per trainee (£42) will include all associated costs for the delivery of National Standards Cycle Training.The contract for cycle training will commence as soon as possible and training delivery will commence immediately after award (Mid/late June 2017)Primary schools within Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council finish their academic year at the end of July and will not be available to be contacted again until the beginning of September.
