Provision of Nursing and Non-nursing Healthcare for Children at Home AQP Framework on behalf of Wandsworth CCG

Descriptions

Wandsworth CCG wishes to give prior notification of its intention to establish an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) framework, and would like to make aware all suitably qualified and experienced providers of the upcoming procurement timetable (below). The framework will offer capacity to deliver specialist/expert services for children with complex health needs which are integrated with primary and secondary care services, based on assessed needs of the individual child and that children receive prompt, appropriate, accessible and evidence-based treatment and advice to enable them to achieve their full potential. •This service provides support to a small number of families within Wandsworth, currently around 27 families •Typically funded as NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC), the care packages are required for children or young persons with complex health needs arising from disability, accident or illness that cannot be met by existing or specialist services alone. The service will work to ensure that families are supported and care is provided according to defined assessed needs. •The Children's CHC services provides bespoke packages of care predominately in the home. •The Children's CHC Service uses a skill mix team comprising of healthcare assistants and nurses working together to provide care 24 hours, seven days a week over 365 days per year. •The service providers interested to apply to be appointed to the NHS framework will need to be experienced in providing one or both elements of Healthcare Assistants or Nursing professionals. The majority of the staff needed will be suitably trained Healthcare Assistants. •The service will continue to evolve including the increase in uptake amongst families of Personal Health Budgets and framework providers will need to be able to respond to and support this approach. •The service provider(s) will work with other Health providers including St Georges University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust which provides the Children's Community Nursing Service. •The currently intended procurement process to establish the AQP framework for the provision of this service is outlined below: The procurement process will seek assurance that applicant providers will be flexible, professional and competent, having the relevant experience working in partnership with Children and Young People, as well as Parents and Carers to make a difference.
