Descriptions
The Council's 30 000 000 GBP transformational project, Aberdeen Art Gallery Inspiring Art and Music, will create a leading heritage and arts visitor attraction in the North East of Scotland. This will be achieved through a sympathetic renovation of the category A listed complex of Gallery buildings, the radically improved presentation of art and music and the delivery of a comprehensive range of visitor activities and services. The buildings will close in March 2015, re-opening at the end of 2017.The Council is also constructing a new storage facility — the Museums Collections Centre — to house the Art Gallery and Museum collections.The Council is inviting tenders to pack, decant, store and return works of art for part of the period when the Art Gallery is closed until our new storage facility is ready for occupation.
