Awarded
Provision of Passenger Transport Surveys at Airports for 2022
Descriptions
The National Transport Authority (NTA), in co-operation with daa (formerly Dublin Airport Authority) and the Shannon Airport Authority (SAA) wishes to undertake surveys of departing passengers at Dublin, Cork and Shannon Airports in Autumn 2022 (preferably November). The purpose of the surveys is to obtain:•Accurate data on departing passengers’ mode of surface transport (to and from each given airport) as well as geographic origin of trips;•Daily and weekly profiles of travel patterns to and from each given airport and hence assist in informing both the NTA and the airport authorities in planning for the current and future surface access needs of each given airport; and•Auxiliary information on purpose of journey, car availability, vehicle occupancy, car parking patterns, overnight stays at hotels, etc.The NTA intends that the Airport surveys will provide essential travel data for a part of the calibration and update of its five (5) Regional (Transport) Modelling System (RMS).A similar passenger survey was undertaken at Dublin Airport, Cork Airport and Shannon Airport in Autumn 2016, and the NTA now wishes to update this survey to examine how passengers’ mode of travel and travel patterns have changed over the intervening six year period.
