Hywel Dda Health Board has a requirement to award a contract for the provision of high quality NHS Orthodontic Service to be delivered in a primary care setting.A contract will be offered under the terms of the NHS (Personal Dental Services Agreement) (Wales) Regulations 2006. Providers must therefore meet all the legal requirements of the Personal Dental Services (PDS) contract and have demonstrable recent experience of successful delivery of specialist orthdontic services.The populations to be served are those of Carmarthen, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion localities of the Hywel Dda Health Board. Services are to be provided to persons under the age of 18 years at the time of the case assessment.The provider(s) will initially be expected to deliver 12,000 Units of Orthodontic Activity (UOAs) per annum at an average of £61.50 per UOA.The initial contract term will be 3 years; extension beyond that will be subject to negotiation.The procurement method will be by invitation to tender.
