Provision of Private Hire Vehicles, Taxis and Passenger Assistants.

The Council is looking to invite expressions of interest to tender to secure suitably qualified contractors to support their duties in providing transport for children and adults with special educational needs and disabilities to various locations in and out of the borough. Types of journeys will include daily journeys, Monday to Friday, (for example to and from schools, day and resource centres), throughout the year or school term; regular but infrequent journeys such as taking a child to or from a residential school at the beginning or end of term; one-off journey's including hospital appointments; and emergencies.The majority of journeys take place between 7:00–18:00 hours Monday to Friday, and 7:00-16:00 hours on Saturdays. Provision is sometimes required at other times and on Sundays and bank holidays. The types of vehicle required under the contract are: saloon cars, mobility cars, accessible taxis, MPVs, minibuses, accessible vehicles and ambulances. Around 78 per cent of journeys require the provision of an attendant.The framework will be established by the London Borough of Camden but it will also be available for use by the London Boroughs of Islington, Ealing, Harrow, Haringey, and Hounslow.Interested firms should complete and submit a pre-qualification questionnaire, which is available on the website www.uk.eu-supply.com Firms will be shortlisted to invite to tender based on their responses provided. The invitation to tender will include the full specification and terms and conditions, as well as the quality questions and pricing model which firms must complete and return. The expectation is that 15 to 20 firms, dependent upon the number of firms that meet that meet the minimum requirements but sufficient to ensure a number of firms that can provide the each type of vehicle across the full range required, will be included on the final framework. Firms will be invited to submit prices for individual requirements, which may range from a one way journey on a single occasion to a daily route for say three years to be capped by the rates provided in the initial tender process.
