Provision of Reasonable Adjustments Framework
Descriptions
The Equalities Act 2010 legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society. The Act requires employers to make reasonable adjustments for disabled members of staff to any elements of the job which place a disabled person at a substantial disadvantage compared to non-disabled people. The provision of goods and services relating to reasonable adjustments is therefore a requirement of both the Equalities Act and the Public Sector Equality Duty. Consultation with the Defence Equipment & Support Disability Networks has identified four main areas of commonly procured goods / services relating to the provision of reasonable adjustments. These are; Interpreting, Communication Support and Translation Services, Scribing Services, Sensory/Auxillary/Viual Aids and Mobility Aids. The Authority seeks to place a Framework contract of which these services and goods can be called off, and will be split into 4 lots. Orders will be placed via a tasking process A supplier can bid for individual lots or all 4 lots. Please submit all bids electronically to: Elizabeth.Hawkins450@mod.gov.uk. Evaluation will be based on Technical Compliance and Pricing Suppliers are encouraged to provide innovative and optional services/goods however these will not be evaluated at this time but maybe added as a future requirement.
