The successful tenderer will be required to provide catering services at Harborne Primary School.The catering service provision at the School has never been market tested and to ensure Best Value principles are applied the Head teacher and School Governors have made a decision to tender the catering service.The School is located within walking distance of Harborne village, Birmingham, and currently has 630 pupils on roll. Year groups range from Reception to Year 6 and current uptake of School lunches is circa 68 % of the School roll. Current annual turnover is approximately 160 000 GBP.The School has a well-equipped production kitchen, although some investment is required in improving the aesthetics of the dining hall. Investment options should be considered in return for a 3 year contract term.Eight staff are currently employed by the incumbent contractor to manage and oversee the catering service and therefore TUPE Regulations will apply to this contract.The School has a very high reputation in the community and encourages its pupils to feel proud of and respect their School. The latest OFSTED Inspection carried out in 2014 states it is an ‘Outstanding' School.
