The provision of self-contained breathing apparatus, associated equipment and services, including but not limited to:— purchase self-contained breathing apparatus (including SCBA Sets, SCBA Cylinders, ADSU Facilities, Communication Equipment) with associated services relating to maintenance, testing and repair.The equipment provided must:a) Supply the wearer with respirable air independent of the external environmentb) be capable of operating in all fire and rescue environments when used by operational fire-fighters.It is essential that the equipment provided must be compliant with UK legislation in force at the time that the equipment enters operational service.It shall be possible to upgrade the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus and associated equipment during the life of the contract, subject to new wearer requirements and technological innovations. These upgrades will be subject to assessment before acceptance.
