Provision of Support for Structural Integrity Assessment at Step 4 of the GDA for UK ABWR

This programme of work incorporates five individual work packages and bidders are invited to bid for, and can be awarded, one, multiple or all of the work packages. The successful TSC(s) is required to provide technical support to ONR, during Steps 4 of GDA, to independently assess the UK ABWR structural integrity Pre-Construction Safety Report (PCSR) submissions. •Work Package 1: Review of Compliance with Design Requirements of ASME III •Work Package 2: Review of Defect Tolerance Assessment & Undertake Comparative Calculations for selected VHI Welds and Locations•Work Package 3: Review of selected Topic Reports •Work Package 4: Review of Pipewhip Methodology and Undertake Comparative Calculations •Work Package 5: Review of selected Design Reports Identification of any necessary UK ABWR information required from the RP. ONR will formally submit these to RP as Regulatory Queries, but the contractor is expected to support ONR in the identification of information required. Review of part, or all of, any responses provided by the RP in answer to any queries raised in conjunction with completing the work package. Support to ONR during technical meetings with the RP. This might include, for example, discussions on information required to undertake or attending video/teleconferences or face-to-face meetings in the UK (Liverpool). Progress meetings via teleconference at either the TSC or ONR office. These should be brief and no more frequent than monthly. The contractor should report the results of this work in individual reports to ONR covering: the review of compliance with the design criteria of ASME III (Work Package 1); the review of defect tolerance and results of comparative defect assessment calculations (Work Package 2); the review of the topic reports (Work Package 3), the review of the Pipewhip Methodology and results of comparative calculations (Work Package 4) and, the review of the design reports (Work Package 5). The reports should contain full details of the work undertaken, discussion of the review, summary, conclusions and a full reference list. For the purposes of this procurement exercise, the work requirement has been broken down into five individual Work Packages and bidders are invited to bid for, and can be awarded, individual work packages, multiple work packages or the total programme. Bidders must provide details of the work packages they propose to bid for.
