Provision of training for informal carers and short breaks.

Tenders are invited for the supply of a support service to informal carers in the form of training and short breaks.The Council's detailed requirements are defined in the Specification at Section 3. For Lot 1 and Lot 2 the Provider will need to ensure a clear link to the support identified by carers through their carers assessment and support plan which are completed by Derbyshire Carers Association (DCA).The tender is split into 2 Lots as follows:Lot 1 — Training to informal carers;Lot 2 — Short Breaks support.Both lots will support a preventative model, therefore, delaying admission into long term care or the breakdown of the carer. It will also provide a clear link with the needs identified within the carers assessment and support plan. These services will reduce stress levels and encourage the take up of the support services available to carers from other partners. The carer will benefit from increased confidence in their abilities and knowledge and they will also feel more supported and empowered in carrying out the carer role.
