Provision of Training Services to the Workways Project in Neath Port Talbot

Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council are seeking suitably qualified and experienced training providers to be included on a framework agreement that will deliver a range of courses to the participants in the Workways NPT project. This provision will form part of the ‘Job Focused Training’ support available through Workways.Workways is a collaborative project between four Local Authorities in South West Wales, funded by the European Social Fund through the Welsh Assembly Government. The project is led by Neath Port Talbot Council in collaboration with Carmarthenshire Council, Pembrokeshire Council and The City & County of Swansea. There are no restrictions on the types of training that are made available to participants as it is occupation led. For this reason, the courses undertaken will be wide ranging and cannot be predicted. Once the specific training requirements have been established, the Workways team are responsible for organising the appropriate training on behalf of the participant. For the purposes of this tendering exercise, course categories have been used to split the tender into lots. Organisations are required to bid for one or more lots from the following list:•Administration, business & office work•Basic skills•Building & construction•Catering•Computers & IT•Education & training•Engineering•Environment, animals & plants•Financial services•First aid•Health & beauty•Health & safety•Languages, information & culture•Leisure, sport & tourism•Manufacturing & production•Personal development•Retail, sales & customer services•Security•Social work & counselling services•Transport & logisticsThe framework agreement will run until 31st March 2012, with an option to extend for a further 24 months.The estimated value of the contract is £190,000 per annum, based on previous expenditure data. This is the value of courses purchased across all lots in the framework agreement during the past twelve months.A list of specific training courses used by the Workways participants within the past twelve months is included as an appendix to the tender documentation.
