Awarded
Provision of Triage Reports (AgorIP)
Descriptions
Swansea University has recently secured funding from the Welsh European Funding Office and the Welsh Government’s Department for Health and Social Services in order to build portfolios of intellectual property and commercialisation opportunities across the Welsh NHS, at Swansea University and beyond. The program, AgorIP, will run until 31st December 2020.In order to deliver the required outputs from this Programme, Swansea University will need to be able to call upon specialist support from a range of professional service firms. This support will take various forms as set out in the particulars below.Swansea University requires the flexibility to be able to call upon these services as required, according to pre-agreed terms and conditions. The purpose of this tender is therefore to procure appropriate services that can be deployed repeatedly over time.A Project Manager, reporting to the Director of AgorIP within the University’s School of Management, will be responsible for deploying the procured specialist support services for projects funded under this initiative.Having identified intellectual property requirements, AgorIP will seek to triage each opportunity into an appropriate workstream.Special support services will be required in order to interview the originators of the commercial opportunity in a structured manner so that an initial assessment of the likely outcome (e.g. spinout or license) can be agreed and some early next steps suggested. It is anticipated that such services will be provided on-site, one day per month. However applicants should indicate their ability to provide this on-site support more than once per month if demand exists. The results of the assessment of each commercial opportunity along with the recommendation should be captured in a Triage ReportThe University will reserve the right to procure Triage services from other specialist providers where, for example, they believe unique specialist skills are required, where they are mandated by funders of University research or where it perceives a potential conflict of interest.
