The Welsh Assembly Government (WAG) aims to improve the linguistic skills of practitioners in all sectors by providing opportunities for training through different models of the Sabbaticals Scheme across WalesWAG wishes to establish a coherent, comprehensive national suite of Welsh-language sabbatical courses to be offered in 3 locations in Wales (based on the boundaries of ADEW consortia areas) as follows:* North Wales, with a particular emphasis on North-east Wales (covering the ADEW North Wales consortium area - Ynys Môn, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham local authorities)* South-east Wales (covering the ADEW South central and South-east consortia areas - Bridgend, Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Caerphilly, Merthyr Tydfil, Torfaen, Blaenau Gwent, Monmouthshire, Newport and Cardiff local authorities)* South-west Wales (covering the ADEW SWAMWAC South-west and Mid-Wales consortium area - Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Powys local authorities).The contract will address the Welsh-medium Education Strategy strategic objectives such as improving the linguistic skills of practitioners in order to improve standards in teaching and learning, and improving levels of achievement in Welsh as a first and second language.The Welsh Assembly Government requires intensive Welsh-language courses on different linguistic levels and aimed at specific target audiences within the education sector. Successful contractors will be required to work with the Welsh for Adults Centres. Expressions of interest are invited from interested providers. WAG is willing to consider bids from suitable providers for a single area of a whole lot; a singl lot, a combination of lots or all lots specified. WAG is content to consider consortium bids. The awarding Authority reserves the right to request parent company and/or other guarantees of performance and financial liabilityPayment terms will be indicated in the contract documents.
