Primarily this is to provide alarms to the Integrated Control Centre (ICC) manned 24/7, so that the appropriate business response can be actioned. Increasingly even more data is required in near-real time for more pro-active discovery of events and optimisation of processes.Routers are part of the end-to-end infrastructure. They provide wide area network capability while also integrating into local instrumentation and control system networks. They provide a secure capability for transferring confidential data, facilitating critical services and functions.United Utilities has an intention to engage the market to request information on the supply and support of routers to provide connectivity to its ‘small’, ‘medium’ and ‘large’ industrial sites.
