Purchase of a fully automatic Fermenter

Descriptions

The University of South Wales is looking to purchase a fully automatic fermenter which is required for an A4B funded project on Polyhydroxyalkanoates production.Initial research undertaken at the University of South Wales has identified that polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) can be produced via a biological process utilising low cost organic intermediates and nutrients from the waste management industry and agricultural residues. The research group further aims to scale up this process and hence this fermenter is required. This project brings together a range of industrial partners across the waste management, process engineering, manufacturing and retail sectors, to undertake a programme of research and development aimed at the development and demonstration of a cost effective process for the conversion of low grade organic feedstocks to low embodied energy, bioplastic products and materials. The full requirement of the purchase will include the vessel, measurement and control systems, hardware and software, utilities, accessories and delivery and installation.Full specification is available in the downloadable additional documents.
