Descriptions
Queen's University Belfast is investing in a major refurbishment project within the School of Mathematics and Physics. One aspect of the project is the rejuvenation of the undergraduate teaching laboratories, which will be relocated and integrated into a purpose-built teaching Centre for the School on the main campus of the university. In addition to the renovation of the teaching space, the University seeks to replace and upgrade the equipment available for undergraduate laboratory programmes. The purpose of this procurement is therefore to source sets of apparatus and equipment to allow multiple copies of a number of different experiments to run, which would be suitable for students undertaking first and second and third year programmes in Physics. Each set of experimental apparatus will be placed onto a laboratory bench and the experiment performed by undergraduates working in pairs. Level 1 and Level 2 experiments (Lots 1-31) must be suitable to be moved in and out of storage on a weekly basis. Level 3 experiments (Lots 32-40) will be in situ semi-permanently.The University Belfast intends to appoint one or more suppliers who can supply, deliver and install (where applicable) a range of Undergraduate Laboratory Equipment for experiments to be carried out by Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Physics Students.
