The University has several Schools / Depts which work with radioactive materials or equipment. The University recognises the need to manage materials, equipment and facilities which could pose a risk of radiation to the general public as well as staff and students. The University is required to appoint an efficient, high quality service provider to advise on radioactive waste, protection, procedures and provide medical advice. The service provider will also be responsible for advice and assistance with the maintenance of statutory authorisations for the storage and use of sources and of ionizing radiations, and on behalf of the University, liaise with the regulatory authorities for radiation safety.
