This is a Preliminary Market Engagement Notice for the Provision of Educational Psychology Services for Rutland County Council. Rutland is England's smallest mainland county and unitary authority. It is situated in the East Midlands between Leicester and Peterborough and has a population of just over 41,000 The main population centres are Oakham, the county town, and Uppingham, although the county is also rich in vibrant village communities. Educational Psychology (EP) is a statutory provision required under the Children and Families Act 2014 and the Special Educational Need and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice 2015. The Council is exploring how best to implement this legislation and deliver the legal timescales for Education Health and Care assessments under the Act. The soft market testing exercise is intended to allow interested organisations with appropriate experience to outline their views and ideas about the future provision of Educational Psychology Services in Rutland. The Council will consider the responses received as a result of this exercise to help inform the options appraisal and the decision-making process.
