The provider will have the responsibility for the delivery of the six key roles of Healthwatch and the NHS Complaints Advocacy Service. The duties are focused on informing local people of the provision of health and social care services and involving people in the scrutiny of the services. The Health and Social Care Act 2012 requires local authorities with social care responsibilities to commission Healthwatch as the main public and patient engagement mechanism for health and social care service users.
