Examples of such experience will be useful.2The bids will be evaluated on compliance to the requirement. Variations from this should be stated with any benefits.3The project is to be offered on a “turnkey” basis. Any items outside of the scope of the bidder shall be statedOutline of the work to reconfigure area T012 at the OpTIC Technology Centre; St AsaphCurrent areaThe area T012, which is also referred to as the Centre for Modern Optics or the View Holographic area is to be reconfigured. It has been created as a suite of rooms on its own and is to a certain degree separate from the main building structure. Note that it has a raised floor 700mm above the true floor and this is made up 600x600 floor tiles on adjustable pillarsThe area as it stands is divided intoLobby:T012Main Corridor:UndesignatedLab 1:T012gLab 2:T012hLab 3:T012bLab 4:T012iLab 5:T012aDark Room 1:T012dDark Room 2:T012cEmulsion Room:T012eStore:T012fThe overall aim is to create two rooms from the rooms T012a/b/c/dThe starting point is the removal, if possible, of the three walls (Shown above as Walls 1, 2 3) that divide the four rooms T012a/b/c/d. These walls will be replaced by “concertina doors”. The next reconfiguration is the continuation of the dark Room 1 wall on to the corridor to continue through to the end wall which will reduce the size of the room currently called “Emulsion Room” T012e. This is referred to as Wall 4 See note in Darkroom 2& 3 sectionAs part of the work to remove Wall 3 is also the need to remove the walls of the Dark Room lobby.Clearly the removal of these partitioning walls will be dependent on whether they are load bearing or not. If they are load-bearing then an alternative support structure will need to be proposed. An option to put bifold doors in the location of the removed walls should be offered. The work clearly needs the support of both plumbing and electrical workers and hence these should be identified as being either within or without the scope of the offer.Room by RoomEmulsion Room:Remove all worktops and cupboards. Adapt to allow for the inclusion of a small sink with H&C water & drain. (Glyndwr)Remove one off strip-light (Electrician)Remove safelight (Electrician)Paint walls (colour to be decided but assume an “off white”)Floor – Leave as is.Leave sprinkler in position. It a concern that this may not be possible due to the possibility that the sprinkler head may be in line with the planned extended wall, In which case a decision may be taken to leave the walls of this room in position.Darkroom 1&2Remove all sinks and plumbing (Glyndwr/plumber)Remove fume cupboards x 2 (Darkroom 1) (Glyndwr)Remove drying cabinet (Darkroom 2) (Glyndwr)Remove shelving (Glyndwr)Remove cupboards (Glyndwr)Remove wall to Darkroom 2 (Wall 3) and Introduce “concertina Doors” – CONTRACTORMove wall (Wall 4) to Emulsion room – CONTRACTORNote: The position of this wall may be dependent on whether the sprinkler system can be modified or not.Remove Darkroom lobby - CONTRACTORReposition light-switches (Electrician)Remove N2 Pipe (Plumber)Remove safelight – (Electrician)Disconnect extract fan (Electrician)Paint walls white - CONTRACTORRemove floor covering and replace with vinyl – CONTRACTORMain dividerThis refers to Wall 2 which shall be replaced with a “concertina door”.Laboratory 3 and 5Remove Optical benches (Large in Lab 5, small in Lab 3) – (Glyndwr)Remove major power 208V outlets (Electrician)Remove power sockets from dividing wall (Electrician)Remove interlock system (Electrician)Remove dividing wall (Wall 1) and introduce “concertina doors”- CONTRACTOR“Concertina Doors”This is the style of door envisaged for these dividing area: Note the “frame” which would act as a load bearing structure if the ceiling is not self supporting, otherwise it need only support the door mechanism. Note that this only shows the area above the floor and the true floor is some 700mm lower.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at https://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=85510.
