Construction work for airfields, runways and manoeuvring surfaces. Airfield pavement construction work. Lighting for aircraft guidance and illumination. To undertake all design and build tasks associated with the resurfacing of the runway with a combination of milling and overlay,the reconstruction and widening of the Parallel Taxiway,the reconstruction of Alpha, Bravo and Echo Dispersals, all asociated drainage works to avoid ponding, the replacement of the complete Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) system including luminaires, cabling ,ductwork and control equipment and new Runway markings at RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus.The design shall comply with the Manual for Aerodrome Design and Safeguarding (MADS), and other relevant regulations and guidance documents.Note certain current dispensations where compliance improvements are not within the scope of the runway resurfacing and AGL works.The airfield is to kept operational throughout the duration of the works and this will be achieved by resurfacing of the runway with night time possessiom periods only. The remaining works can be carried out during the day but will require close liaison with the Users and Air Traffic Control to ensure the operational capablity of the airfield is not compromised.
