Regional Growers Survey

Horticulture Wales is conducting regional surveys of horticulture producers across the seven agricultural regions of Wales. The objective of this piece of work is to conduct a telephone survey of horticulture producers in the specified region of Wales, replicating the methodology used and types of data collected by Horticulture Wales’ existing surveys of other regions so as to provide directly comparable data and information.For the purposes of this brief, the definition of horticulture shall include:1.Fruit production including field and protected cropping2.Vegetable production (including potatoes) including field and protected cropping3.Herb production4.Ornamental plantsThe specific agricultural region of Wales to be surveyed is the “South”, which the Welsh Government defines as Swansea, Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend, Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfill, Caerphilly, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen, Monmouthshire and Newport.Horticulture Wales shall provide reports and supporting documentation concerning the completion of previous regional producer surveys to collect this type of baseline data.
