Invitation to quote - North Wales Social Services Improvement Collaborative - Workforce Development Options AppraisalThe North Wales Social Services Improvement Collaborative (NWSSIC) led by Denbighshire County Council is seeking quotes from perspective companies to undertake an options appraisal of the current Workforce Development and Training Provision across North Wales including the 6 Local Authorities Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwyneth and Wrexham. To inform this work a baseline position statement has already being completed and will be available to the successful organisation.The Value of the Contract is maximum £20,000The report is to be delivered to the The North Wales Social Services Improvement Collaborative (NWSSIC) Project Board in February 2015 and an interim report will be required in November 2014.The North Wales Regional Workforce Development Project has been running since early 2013, Chaired by Gwen Carrington Director of Community - Anglesey and the Lead Director for North Wales for the Sustainable Social Services - Local Government Implementation Plan 'Development of a Strong and Professional Delivery Team'. Gwen also leads on the National Workforce work stream.Within the Local Government Implementation Plan there is a North Wales action 'Development of a regional workforce development unit' and agreement was reached with Directors to undertake an options appraisal around the structure of social services workforce, strategy and development across North Wales.Key drivers for undertaking this work include:Potential changes to and the reduction of SCDWP fundingRecruitment and retention within Local Authority training departmentsOpportunity to streamline the current provision ensuring resources are targeted where most needed and provide best value in terms of quality and costMeeting the changing demands and needs on our workforce including the delivery of new models of careThe push from Welsh Government to have regional footprints where appropriate
