Re-imagining Central Casual Area of Swansea Market

Descriptions

The Council is seeking an experienced interior design company to possibly develop and deliver an enhancement programme ‘Reimagining the Central Casual Area’ for the centre of Swansea Market to be completed by the end of 2020 or early 2021.This project forms part of a wider Improvement Plan for the Market which aims to help secure the Market’s future trading potential and ensure it continues to play a pivotal role in the promotion of Swansea City Centre as a retailing and leisure destination. The project is mainly about creating a multi-use communal area for seating, meeting, greeting, eating and events, the design will need to be functional, attractive and create a landmark feature with a ‘green’ theme.Reimagining the Central Casual Area will incorporate the design and physical building works and the appointed team will procure sub-contractor(s) and suppliers and will oversee the delivery of the agreed programme of works which will include consulting with key stakeholders and securing any necessary statutory consents to implement the works.Incorporating environmental enhancement measures as part of the project design and the identification of sustainable operating systems is a key driver for this project.
