Repairs to Quay Walls at Newport Harbour

Descriptions

The Isle of Wight Council ("the Authority") invites Tenders from suitably qualified suppliers ("Potential Suppliers") for the provision of Repairs to Quay Walls at Newport Harbour. A survey of the harbour walls which are in the Authority's ownership was commissioned in March 2014 to ascertain the condition of the walls and the level of works required to ensure that they are safe and fit for purpose. The report identified significant amounts of works that were required; these were broken down between short term (1-5 years) and long term (6-10 years). The Authority has allocated capital funding to undertake repairs to the most vulnerable sections; the sections requiring attention are detailed on the plan in the tender appendices. Please note that the start date of the works will require the successful supplier's method statement to be agreed by the Environment Agency and the Environment Agency granting permission through a licence for the works; the duration will be determined by successful supplier's programme set out in the Method Statements. The closing date for receipt of Tenders is 14:00Hrs on 25 July 2019.
