Replacement and New Installation Heating Contracts
Descriptions
Following the successful outcome of a tenant ballot, Gwynedd Council transferred approximately 6,300 units of its housing stock to Cartrefi Cymunedol Gwynedd (CCG), a newly formed Registered Social Landlord in April 2010.CCG is now seeking expressions of interest from experienced and qualified organisations to carry out a 5 month replacement heating programme including but not limited to, installation or replacement of new central heating, installation or replacement of boilers, replacement or installation of electric heating and associated works (including where necessary removal of asbestos, alterations to gas pipework and associated building works). It is envisaged that 1 to 6 constructors will be selected to deliver the works with an approximate value £2 million. Additional Information:CCG's housing stock is mainly concentrated in the settlement towns of Bangor, Caernarfon, Pwllheli, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Dolgellau, Bala and Tywyn in the county of Gwynedd, North Wales. Constructors should be aware that Gwynedd is a mountainous region covering an area of around 2,548 sq Kilometres with 67% of its area located within the Snowdonia National Park. Properties are spread out across a wide area of the County located in towns, villages and sometimes isolated rural locations. Constructors will need to be able to overcome the obvious logistical challenges involved in delivering the works to all these areas.Only constructors with proven experience of having successfully completed similar contracts on other large scale Social Housing projects need apply.
