Descriptions
This project comprises of the refurbishment of a basement boiler plant located at Coleg Morgannwg, Aberdare Campus.The existing boiler plant comprises of four (4) solid fuel Beeston cast iron boilers. Two (2) have been removed during the summer (2010) shut down and replaced with one (1) gas fired steel boiler complete with pressure jet burner rated at 400 Kw. The remaining two (2) solid fuel boilers are to be replaced within this contract. The Mechanical Contractor shall be responsible for all associated builders work and electrical services. Scope of works The Mechanical Contractor shall perform the following duties to the satisfaction of the Client and his representatives. •Remove from site the solid fuel boilers, flues, hoppers, screw feed Elevators and ancillary pipework. •Provide new gas fired boilers complete with pipework modifications Service existing plant as specified. •Remove asbestos.•Provide replacement thermal insulation on existing services and insulate all new services.•Provide electro/mechanical controls. •Re-wire cabling to existing pumps and thermostats.•Provide all builders ‘works' associated with the new installation.•Remove surplus materials.•Test and commission.•Submit two (2) sets of O & M manuals.•Prepare two (2) sets of as-built drawings in Autocad format.•Comply with HSE requirements.
