Request for Proposal: Cultural Assets

Descriptions

Anglesey County Council is inviting proposals for the future management of three of the island’s heritage assets: Beaumaris Courthouse, Beaumaris Gaol and Melin Llynnon. The purpose of this document is to give background to this process and to set out the Council’s aims and aspirations for the three sites. In an era of ever more dynamic visitor experiences, this is an exciting opportunity to develop the offer at three of Anglesey’s heritage attractions thereby raising their profile and giving them a financially sustainable future.”All three assets are currently managed by the Councils Museums and Culture service. The service is a significant contributor to Anglesey’s Destination Management Plan and as such is a key part of the local economy. It also contributes to promoting the Welsh language and the cultural tourism offer on Anglesey. The Council wants to promote Anglesey as a unique and culturally vibrant place. The Museums and Culture service has a significant role to play in achieving this aspiration by providing residents and visitors with inspiring, engaging experiences that contribute to their knowledge and understanding of the island’s cultural identity and traditions. The service recognises that other groups and organisations on the island are also making a vital contribution to this agenda. It is in this context that the service is looking to work with partners in a new way to deliver an exciting, engaging visitor experience at three of its heritage sites. The council is happy to consider all types of lease/license/transfer/sale agreements. All proposals which address the long-term financial sustainability of the sites while providing vibrant, dynamic visitor offers are therefore very welcome. All of the documents necessary to submit a proposal can be found in the additional attachments area.Interested organisations should e-mail culturalassets@anglesey.gov.uk by 20/05/16 to register their interest.
