Requirement for Divng Contractor for seabed mooring recovery - Pembrokeshire Coast
Descriptions
DESCRIPTION OF SCOPEThe Centre for Applied Marine Sciences (CAMS) at Bangor University wishes to acquire the services of a professional diving contractor to assist in the locating and recovery of a seabed mooring which houses a scientific instrument. The seabed mooring buoy failed to return to the surface after an initial attempt to trigger the acoustic release in late 2014. The device has approximately a 300kg dry mass and dimensions of 2.0m x 1.5m x 1.0m and currently sits in around 40m water (chart datum) approximately 22km south of Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire (see figs). The exact coordinates from the failed recovery attempt are available and will be passed to the successful tender company. It is anticipated that given a suitable weather window the dive team will be deployed at slack water to attempt to locate the device and attach a line suitable to lift the device to the surface.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.uk/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=20950.
