Research – how to effectively engage with the domiciliary care workforce in Wales

Descriptions

In November 2015, the Minister of Health and Social Services announced home care workers (domiciliary care workers) and those working in care homes must also join the register to ensure that only those who are fit to practise are allowed to work in the sector. We estimate there are 23,000 home care workers in Wales that will need to be registered by 2020.The information we have on home care workforce in particular is limited. A number of factors have been identified as having a negative impact on the recruitment and retention of home care workers. The overall aim of the research is to get to know the workforce better, focussing specifically on home care workers, the next and largest group to register. We need to establish what are the most effective methods of engaging and communicating with them. The specific objectives of the research are to:identify how we can best engage with home care workers in Wales and find out their preferred communication methods;gain an understanding of the demographic profile of the domiciliary care workforce;determine their digital competence and access to technology, and whether geographic factors impact on access; andevaluate if support is needed to enable them to use the online portal to register and keep their details up-to-date.For further infromation, please download the specificationNOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=69775.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
