Research into policing Ethics and the role of the College.

Descriptions

The "ethics of policing" is still a relatively underdeveloped field by comparison with other professions. As such, there is an opportunity for the College to take a role leading, encouraging, coordinating and facilitating the development of the field of policing ethics. In short, there is the potential for the College to occupy a role developing a community of practice for policing ethics, much akin to how the professional bodies in healthcare work. This will be important in supporting the development of the new code of ethics, currently being progressed by the College. Following this work the College will decide on the role it will play in the "ethics of policing" and developing a community of practice.
