Research: Wellbeing breaks for people living with dementia (Rethinking Respite)

In March 2016, the Commissioner launched her Dementia: More Than Just Memory Loss report. One of the key areas identified by people living with dementia and their carers as a significant issue was the lack of flexible, enabling and personalised respite care.The Commissioner would like to build on this work and is therefore seeking tenders for project management, and the delivery of a written report and toolkit for Local Authorities. The report should lay out the realities of current respite provision across Wales as well as provide a clear benchmark about what respite should deliver for people living with dementia and their carers, in line with Welsh Government’s Social Services and Wellbeing Outcomes Framework.The purpose of this research is to recognise and raise awareness about the impact of current respite offerings on the individual living with dementia, and also their families, communities and carers.The Commissioner wants the voices and experiences of those affected by dementia to be reflected throughout the report.NOTE: To register your interest in this notice and obtain any additional information please visit the Sell2Wales Web Site at http://www.sell2wales.gov.wales/Search/Search_Switch.aspx?ID=66534.The buyer has indicated that it will accept electronic responses to this notice via the Postbox facility.
