This brief invites companies to tender for a contract to conduct the Isle of Anglesey County Council Residents’ Survey 2011/12. Effective consultation and communication, both internally and externally, remain a fundamental part of the Wales Programme for Improvement and Making the Connections agendas, and are central to improving the customer-focused culture of the Authorityand the wider public service. These surveys provide a focus for the Council’s business and performance planning and to monitor changes in customer perceptions and satisfaction. A Residents’ Survey was last conducted in Anglesey in 2001The purpose of the proposed survey is to investigate the attitudes of residents towards the Council and the Anglesey area. A key aspect of the survey will be the analysis of trends going forward and therefore it is vital that there are continuous sets of questions which can be compared from one survey to the next. The issues to be covered by the 2012 survey are likely to be:•Isle of Anglesey as a place to live;•Satisfaction with the Council;•The Council’s corporate image;•Usage of, and attitudes towards, council services;•Contacting the Council;•Customer care;•Welsh Language.The Council is a key member of the area's Local Service Board which is about to embark on a significant process of partnership and plan rationalisation in line with the Welsh Government agenda. A key element of the process is for the public services providers in the area to develop a coherent information and intelligence plan. It is intended that this Citizens Survey should offer a wealth of data and analysis to feed in to this process, to help shape the priorities for public service improvement across the island. The Council will work in close contact with the chosen company to develop these further.
