Barrow Borough Council (BBC) is responsible for the maintenance and repair of approximately 3 000 residential homes. BBC aim to ensure high quality repairs and maintenance that are free from defects, are completed within the requisite time-scales and are undertaken by competent operatives who work in a safe and efficient manner.BBC wishes to procure and enter into 2 contracts for the completion of responsive repairs and gas maintenance and repair to residential properties. The services covered by this procurement are essential to the operation of BBC's housing management service. The successful bidder (s) will be expected to work in the spirit of partnership to deliver a tangible and consistent improvement in the services.The procurement is divided into 2 Lots that cover the separate service areas. Bidders will be permitted to tender for 1 or both of the Lots.The Lots are as follows —Lot 1 — Responsive repairs;Lot 2 — Gas servicing, maintenance and repair.Full details about the contracts that are to be awarded, along with how Bidders can participate in the procurement, are set out in the invitation to tender documents. Bidders are instructed to ensure that they read all the documents that comprise the invitation to tender guidance when deciding to bid and when completing their tender.Bidders should note that BBC and PP will be hosting a Bidders Event on Wednesday 1.4.2015 in Barrow Town Hall from 10:30-13:00. The purpose of the event will be to provide an overview of the opportunity and the procurement process through which the successful Contractor(s) will be appointed. Attendance at the event is optional and Bidders will be able to bring a maximum of 3 representatives. Bidders are advised to ensure that the attendees include the member of staff who is responsible for both the completion and the authorisation of their bid. Further details about the event including how to register, can be found in Document F. Registration should be completed no later than Monday 30.3.2015 at 17:00.
