Restorative Justice Commissioning
Descriptions
To enable local commissioning of a Restorative Justice Service, grant funding has been provided to Police and Crime Commissioners by the MoJ under powers given to the Secretary of State by s56 of the Domestic Violence, Crime and Victims Act 2004 (DVCVA 2004). In making provision for victims services and initiatives that contribute to preventing crime and disorder the PCCs are responding to the obligations placed upon them and use the powers given to them by both the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 and the Anti-social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014. The Southwest Police Procurement Department (SwPPD) who carry out procurement on behalf of the four regional Police Forces of Devon & Cornwall, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, is looking for a supplier who will provide a single point of co-ordination in a multi-agency setting to provide a solution incorporating a victim lead restorative practices approach including facilitation and mediation services that offers the victim an opportunity to have a say in the resolution of offences. The Devon & Cornwall PCC and Force having made a commitment to this process are looking for a partner to provide Restorative Justice Services in the Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly area. They will host an initial engagement event that is open to all wider stakeholders and potential providers on 31 January 2017 at Buckfast Abbey Conference Centre, Devon.
