A comprehensive review of national and international projects, trials and practical experience of initiatives and associated measures to encourage and achieve improved co-existence between capture fisheries and marine aquaculture interests operating in shared locations. While this review should encompass the broad range of both sectors, particular focus should be applied to measures that might apply to static gear fishery and shellfish/seaweed aquaculture developments. Based on the outcomes of the above review, recommendations for opportunities to implement beneficial co-existence measures in Scotland, again with a focus on static gear fishery and shellfish/seaweed farm developments. This should include identification of evident barriers and challenges, and further enabling works required to improve prospects for successful implementation. Recommendations for the trialling of identified co-existence initiatives/measures in Scotland.
