Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd (CCDG), trading as Careers Wales, is a wholly owned subsidiary company of the Welsh Government, with a single shareholder which is the Welsh Ministers. It provides bilingual professional and impartial careers information and guidance service, including the statutory service for young people for the whole of WalesCareers information advice and guidance services are currently offered to school and further education students as well as to young people not undertaking an educational course; plus provision of careers information advice and guidance services to adults. In 2016-17, these services are delivered through CCDG with core funding provided by Welsh Government. CCDG does not provide, nor is it responsible for, the provision of careers education which is the responsibility of schools which must deliver the Careers and World of Work curriculum.The specific objectives of the project are:• to compare the running and delivery costs of CCDG to other relevant comparable organisations.• to determine whether the level of funding received from Welsh Government is adequate to cover the total running costs of CCDG in meeting the service requirements as set out in the Remit letter and Business plan. This will include clarifying the:Total expenditure of CCDG in meeting the service requirements per annum; andTotal funding received from Welsh Government per annum.
