Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust has established a new clinical model which is currently being piloted within NHS Wales’. The main objective is to provide an ambulance service for Wales which is clinically focussed and provides high quality care when it is needed. The pilot will need to demonstrate the effect of the removal of time based response standards on clinical performance and patient experience metrics. The pilot will also have to establish the cost effectiveness of ambulance services against the previous model and as part of NHS Wales unscheduled care system. The new clinical model arrangements have been modelled and planned and supported by clinical evidence and expert and professional opinion.Emergency Ambulance Service Committee (EASC) wishes to commission an evaluation of the effectiveness and impact of the model over the 12 months of the pilot phase to inform future decision making and developments.Emergency Ambulance Service Committee (EASC) are running a presentation in Cardiff on the 7th December 2015 for all interested bidders to provide further information on the collated data etc that will be provided to the successful bidder in order to facilitate the evaluation of the model.
