RM6126 DPS Call Off Contract Rapid Literature Review: Safety Cultures. Research 3
Descriptions
DPS Call-Off contract for Rapid Literature Review: Safety Cultures - Research 3. This procurement was undertaken through the CCS Research and Insights Dynamic Marketplace Dynamic Purchasing Agreement (RM6126). The Call-Off contract was awarded following a further competition process. The Contractor will be undertaking a rapid literature review to inform our understanding of what good safety cultures look like and how these develop. We are seeking a rapid review this literature to provide CQC with key insights into what this literature says about safety cultures as well as an understanding of the level of confidence against the existing literature (based on volume, breadth and quality). Additionally, the review should identify areas where there are gaps in evidence which may direct our future research focus. This includes understanding the characteristics of good safety cultures, how they present in different health and care settings, and the conditions which underpin these. This learning will be used by CQC to inform the way we assess, regulate and support improvement of safety cultures and safety in care across health and social care. We require the supplier to carry out three interlinked literature reviews looking at the health and care sectors regulated by CQC; •Adult Social Care •Secondary and specialist healthcare •Primary and community healthcare. Each of these literature reviews should seek to: i.Identify key characteristics of good safety cultures within sectors, and how these have been defined; ii.Identify and summarise the conditions necessary to support good safety cultures to develop and be sustained; and any conditions that may act as a barrier to safety cultures developing iii.Determine and comment on the volume, breadth and quality of research and the key areas of focus (and gaps in research) across sectors. The contract is awarded for total period of 6 months. Total Awarded Value is maximum of all charges Contract Reference: CQC EP&S 027
