Rushmoor Borough Council Pinehurst Car Park Demolition 2024

Descriptions

Rushmoor Borough Council ('the Council') is inviting tenders from suitably qualified demolition contractors for the demolition of Pinehurst Car Park, a double storey reinforced concrete car park situated within a roundabout between the A325 on the east and the A327 on the west. The car park is to be demolished to allow for new road infrastructure as part of a wider Civic Quarter development. Pinehurst car park is situated within a roundabout. It's crucial to maintain the surrounding roads' functionality throughout the project. Demolition activities must prioritise the preservation of these roadways, avoiding any harm resulting from extensive ground activity. The car park is a largely independent structure. The only areas that will require extra attention are the retaining walls on the northeast and south east elevation of the car park that require to be retained to support the road embankment. It is noted that the existing road infrastructure, subways and the independent brick retaining walls that support the road embankments are all to be retained as part of this demolition. The works value is estimated at approximately between £600,000 to £700,000. The contract will be let using the JCT Design and Build contract 2016 Edition.
