SCC - AS - RFQ - Viability evidence-base toolkit for net zero building policies.
Descriptions
This project is directed by the Surrey County Council Greener Futures Climate Change Delivery Plan 2021 - 2025, linked to the goal of promoting climate change measures and net zero targets in local plan policies. Our programme seeks to accelerate ultra-low carbon and Net Zero transitions in the built environment through capacity building in local planning directed by the County's, Governments and District level cross-sectoral Net Zero 2050 targets. This project programme is positioned within Surrey County Council's capacity building and influencing role supporting the eleven districts and boroughs of the county to work towards key planning policy goals. To achieve these objectives, we are completing a strategy/ guidance statement focusing on the changes and innovations in statutory and industry leading Net Zero building standards, to provide clarity internally for colleagues and externally for partners working to promote sustainable outcomes in the built environment. This will take the form of a policy baseline (completed in house by the project lead) providing a survey and picture of existing and future carbon reduction target setting requirements and how these can be achieved through climate change responsive building practices.
