The Governors of Great Sankey High School, Warrington sought a suitably experienced caterer to operate a professional meals service to students and staff.The contract for the service will be a concession arrangement.The school operates four catering service areas and has 1901 pupils on roll and 260 staff. Approximately 65 of pupils are in receipt of free school meals entitlement with a free school meals uptake of 92 %. Approximately 177,500 meals are served each year at present.The Services for the school will include providing Breakfasts, food for mid-morning break, Lunch and some hospitality services for pupils, staff and visitors Mon–Fri during term time. Out of hours catering may also be required for school functionsThe contract will run from the 1.9.2013 for a period of five years and may be extended for three further periods of one year by mutual agreement.The school is currently providing the catering service itself and is seeking a progressive caterer to provide the service on its behalf and increase the take up of the service. It is likely that TUPE regulations will apply to the provision of the service.
