Awarded

School of Physics and Astronomy: Organic Semiconductor Evaporation System.

Descriptions

The School of Physics and Astronomy require a vacuum evaporation system for the fabrication of organic optoelectronic devices. The system will be used to deposit organic semiconductors and metals to make multilayer devices. The main uses of the instrument will be for fabrication of organic light-emitting diodes, organic solar cells and organic photo-detectors, as well as films for photo-physical studies. To allow handling of materials sensitive to ambient oxygen and water, the system should be integrated with an nitrogen glove box. Moreover, the system will be used for fabrication of hybrid-devices, comprising solution processed (e.g. deposited by spin-coating in the glove box) and vacuum deposited layers.
