SCOPIC 2
Descriptions
Military electronic systems. Training and simulation in military electronic systems. Data storage services. In order to meet training objectives and achieve Collective Training (CT) Competency Levels during Battlegroup Field Training Exercises (FTXs), integration and exploitation of an increasing number of Joint Fires and Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR), Air Defence and Ground Based Surveillance and Target Acquisition (STA) assets are required. The provision of flanking and depth forces, of live platforms or simulated engagements from these platforms is normally precluded due to costs to support CT exercises, or due to wider technical constraints. Resources are often limited in availability for training purposes and only become available on deployment to an operational theatre. The majority of ranges also preclude the integration of a large number of Joint Fires, Air Defence and Armed ISTAR assets due to peace time munitions safety constraints.A coherent and representative technical solution through synthetic and training wrap provision can substantially reduce the training gap for Battlegroups (BGs) in achieving combined arms competency in their mission planning and execution to achieve readiness states for deployment. The novel and technical nature of this Synthetic Wrap (SW) requirement means the MoD is unable to generate such capability in-house. Project SCOPIC 2 will enable timely and appropriate force preparation and generation of operational capability for standing military commitments and contingency, by evolving and expanding the current SW capability delivered by Project Micro-SCOPIC over the period 2015-2020. SCOPIC 2 must have the capability to integrate with the TES capability provided by Projects TESIK, AWES and DFWES. There must be scope to integrate additional instrumented capabilities should they be developed and delivered during the life of the contract.SCOPIC must have the capacity to be interoperable with other UK TES systems and the TES systems used by NATO allies. It is anticipated that the initial contract duration shall run for 3 years from September 2020 to end August 2023. Also, that the Authority shall have options to extend the contract by up to 4 years until end of August 2027 and options to support other exercises as defined in the Army Training Programme.
