NHS Blood and Transplant is a Special Health Authority. The authority has a requirement to undertake a triplex screening assay for HBV DNA, HCV and HIV RNAs and assays for WNV and HEV RNA specifically intended and CE marked for donation screening using an automated system.This VEAT is for a direct award to the current provider due to the Covid-19 and NHSBT's ongoing response to the pandemic. The project team and operational teams manufacturing development Team (MDT), Testing and IT) have all been required to work on high priority Covid-19 activities. There is no alternative technical support for a tender and therefore, this award is for 12 months (August 2021 — August 2022) using Regulation 32 (2) (c).
