Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council is inviting suitably qualified and experienced learning and development providers to submit an indicative tender to be included on a Dynamic Purchasing System for the delivery of a half-day course to provide the workforce with an overview of section 117 of the Mental Health Act 1983 (aftercare arrangements).The workforce will include all mental health staff, AMHPs, Social Workers and Team Managers. A half-day course would take place from 9:30 to 12:30 or from 13:30 to 16:30, on a week day, at a training venue in Rotherham.We initially require 4 courses with a maximum of 20 delegates per course.The training course is required from Autumn 2015, with roll-out across 2015/2016, with the aim of ensuring staff are aware of the requirements of Section 117 and that they are observed in practice.Having completed the course workers should be able to:— Define what aftercare is and its aim.— Explain who is entitled to receive aftercare services under sections of the Act.— Explain how section 117 works in practice.As a minimum, the course should cover:— Section 117 Mental Health Act 1983 requirements and legal framework, links to the Care Act, and defining after-care services— Ordinary Residence & Section 117 Mental Health Act 1983 Pre-Care Act 2014 position— Ordinary Residence & Section 117 Mental Health Act 1983 Post-Care Act 2014 positionIndicative tenders can download and then uploaded for evaluation at any time throughout the duration of the dynamic purchasing system contract number YORE-9BAC6T; initial indicative tenders are required between 8.7.2015 and 22.7.2015.
