Sandwell Council is looking for an experienced performance manager to join the team at the centre of the organisation responsible for driving the council's improvement journey. Our Improvement Plan sets out a clear roadmap for sustainable improvement, and embedding performance management is a key pillar for the organisation to achieve its goals as set out in the Corporate Plan. This comes on the back of our award-winning approach to protecting residents during the COVID-19 pandemic, national recognition for our regeneration plans and the successfully delivery of the Sandwell Aquatic Centre as host venue for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. The Corporate Performance Manager will work closely with corporate policy and improvement officers to lead the ongoing development, implementation and co-ordination of the corporate performance management framework. Working with senior officers, elected members and government appointed Commissioners, you will be key to embedding a performance culture across the organisation. The role will be responsible for: • Leading the ongoing development, implementation and co-ordination of the corporate performance management framework that assists Sandwell Council to achieve and maintain high levels of performance and value for money. • The development and presentation of clear and transparent performance reports and benchmarking activities, providing senior managers, Elected Members and the public with intelligence on delivery of the Corporate Plan and outcomes for residents of Sandwell. • Ensuring the continual development and embedding of a performance culture that focuses on improving outcomes for residents throughout the organisation. We are looking for someone with: • Extensive experience of undertaking and presenting analysis of complex information with the ability to convey key messages • A track record of building relationships and working in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, including those at a senior level and in other organisations • Detailed knowledge of performance management and service improvement methodology • The ability to use their own initiative and have an enthusiastic and tenacious approach to work The team works flexibly between Sandwell Council House in Oldbury and home-based.
